About Me

Aloha and Mahalo.

An award-winning photographer, I made the move from 35mm film, and the darkroom, to digital photography in 2004 and have not looked back. My favorite photography subjects have always included travel destinations, architecture and the natural world. Some of my natural world fantasy images have been licensed to the FishLips.store website and are available for purchase there.

In 2017 St Thomas experienced two category 5 hurricanes - Irma and Maria - within two weeks. Like many residents, I created meals from available supplies, supplemented by the meager provisions offered in local markets. I recorded the details of successful meal experiments in my journal. While waiting for a return to normalcy, I also wrote down my thoughts and experiences, challenges overcome, and small victories celebrated. This notebook became The Category 5 Cookbook. The coronavirus restrictions of 2020 again brought to mind thoughts of dietary self-sufficiency resulting in the creation of The Guavaberry Cookbook.

A graduate of duCret School of the Arts, I’ve studied at NY’s Traphagen School of Fashion, Florida State University, Bergen Community College and John C. Campbell Folk School. My work has been displayed in single and group shows in New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida and St Thomas, and is represented in private and corporate collections.

My international commercial client list includes Yaguareté Publishing, Peace for Conservation and LearnSomething.
